Private tutors × fee management
Tuition fees, collected without chasing
For a tutor, fee collection is the worst part of the job, because it is the one part where you have to be someone else: the person who asks a parent you teach for money. The point of putting it in software is not reporting. It is that the reminder comes from a system rather than from you, and that the receipt looks like a receipt.
Why this is different for a one-person institute
A school has an accountant whose job is the fee counter. You do not. Every minute of fee administration is a minute taken from teaching or from your evening, and every awkward reminder is a conversation with a parent you will see next week.
- No office, so the work happens between sessions or at night
- The reminder is personal unless something else sends it
- A handwritten receipt undercuts the fee you are charging
- Twenty to ninety learners is too many to remember and too few to justify an accountant
Per-learner plans, because every learner is different
Tutoring fees vary per learner far more than a school's do — by subject, by frequency, by the sibling discount you offered in January and have not written down. The ledger has to hold that without becoming a project.
- A fee plan per learner, with the instalment dates you agreed
- Discounts and concessions on the same ledger, with a reason
- A one-off charge — a test fee, printed material — added without restructuring
- A learner who pauses for exams handled without their balance going wrong
The reminder comes from the system, not from you
This is the whole value. A reminder arriving automatically, before and after the due date, under your own name, is read as administration. The same words from you personally are read as a request, and that is why tutors stop sending them.
- Automatic before and after the due date, on a schedule you set
- Over WhatsApp, SMS and email — nothing for a family to install
- In your own name, with your own branding
- Your personal call reserved for the one family that needs a conversation
Look like an institute, stay a one-person operation
A numbered receipt, a published fee structure and a professional-looking message change how a parent judges your fee. That is worth more to a tutor than any report.
- Numbered, GST-ready invoices and PDF receipts a parent can keep
- Your own branded address, so the messages are not from a vendor's app
- A pending list you can read in a minute, instead of a mental one
- Collected, pending and discount totals from the same ledger as the receipts
Everything in one place
What the platform covers
A plan per learner
Different fees, dates and discounts per learner on one ledger, without a project.
Reminders that are not you
Automatic, in your own name, so the awkward message is not a personal one.
Receipts that look right
Numbered PDF receipts and a published structure, which changes how your fee reads.
Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
Is this worth it for twenty learners?
The entry plan is ₹180/month for up to 90 learners, published. Whether it is worth it comes down to one question: how many hours a month do you currently spend on fee reminders and receipts, and what is an hour of your teaching worth.
Can I charge different fees for different subjects?
Yes — the fee plan is per learner, so a learner taking two subjects, or on a sibling discount, or paying monthly rather than per term, is all the same ledger rather than a special case.
Will parents have to install anything?
No. There is no parent app and no parent login. Reminders, receipts and notices arrive over WhatsApp, SMS and email under your own name.
Do families need an app for this?
No. Classfold has no parent app and no parent login — everything a family receives arrives over WhatsApp, SMS or email under your institute's own name, so there is nothing for them to install.
Can we start with just this and add the rest later?
Yes. Every plan includes the whole platform, so you can run one capability first and switch on the others when you are ready. Nothing has to be bought again.
