Classfold for arts academies

An academy is not a school. Your console should know that.

Pick Arts academy when your institute is created and Classfold stops calling things by school names. Levels instead of Classes, Batches instead of Sections, Disciplines instead of Subjects, Instructors and a Director instead of Teachers and a Principal — across the console, the exports and both apps.

Your vocabulary, set once

The institute type selects the whole set of words, and any word can be overridden for your academy. If you teach Grades rather than Levels, change it once and every screen follows — including the sheets your office exports and the Android and iOS apps.

  • Level, Batch, Discipline, Class, Instructor, Director, Assessment
  • Override any term for your own academy
  • One name per thing, in the console, the exports and the apps

Enrolments and fees without the notebook

Students enrol into a Level and a Batch, and every payment — counter cash, UPI at the desk, online — posts to the same ledger with a receipt from one numbered series. Instalments and concessions attach to the student or the batch, so the balance at the counter is already right.

  • One ledger across cash, UPI and online payments
  • Instalments and concessions per student or per batch
  • Defaulter list in one click, reminders over WhatsApp, SMS and email

Instruments, costumes and the people who hold them

The inventory module is switched on by default for an arts academy, which is where tablas, keyboards, costumes and props live — what you own, where it is and who has it. Staff records and payroll cover visiting instructors the same way they cover full-time ones.

  • Inventory for instruments, costumes and props
  • Staff records and payroll, including visiting instructors
  • Certificates for the levels your academy awards itself

What Classfold does not do for an academy

Said plainly, because a demo call would say it anyway. There is no per-session timetable with make-up classes — the schedule is a weekly recurring grid, so a one-off Saturday rehearsal is not something it can hold. Assessments are mark-based, not rubric-based. There is no entry workflow for external boards such as ABGMVM, ABRSM or Trinity, no recital or event registration, no practice log and no media portfolio. If your academy needs those, you would be running them beside Classfold today.

  • Weekly recurring timetable only — no dated one-off sessions or make-ups
  • Mark-based assessments, not performance rubrics
  • No external exam-board entries, recital registration or practice logs

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Does choosing Arts academy change how scheduling works?

No. It changes the words and which modules appear. The timetable is still a weekly recurring grid, so a one-off rehearsal or a make-up class is not something Classfold can schedule today. We would rather you knew that before the demo than after.

Can we rename Level to something else?

Yes. Every term the type sets can be overridden for your academy, once, in settings — the console, the exports and both apps pick up your word.

How do we track instruments and costumes?

The inventory module is on by default for an arts academy: what you own, where it is, and who currently holds it. It is a stock record, not a rental-billing system.

Do you handle ABGMVM, ABRSM or Trinity exam entries?

No. There is no exam-board entry workflow, and board-specific absence or refund rules are not modelled. Your own internal assessments and certificates are covered; external board entries you would still run separately.

What does it cost for a small academy?

STARTER at ₹180/month covers up to 90 students and BASIC ₹599/month up to 300. The institute type does not change the price.
