Coaching institutes × testing
Online tests and OMR without re-typing a single mark
Testing is the thing a coaching institute does more of than anyone else, and the work it generates is transcription: answer sheets to a spreadsheet, a spreadsheet to a rank list, a rank list to a message. This page covers the testing Classfold runs today — computer-based tests, OMR sheets and offline marks entry — and is explicit about the part that is not built yet.
Three ways to run a test, one place for the result
Coaching institutes test in all three modes, often in the same week, and the value is in them landing on the same learner record rather than in any one of them.
- Computer-based tests taken on a device, scored automatically
- OMR sheets for a paper test run at scale, with the sheet design handled
- Offline marks entry, for the test that was always going to be on paper
- All three arriving on the same learner record, so the result is comparable
Marks reach the result without a spreadsheet
The transcription step is where the errors are, and they are the plausible-looking kind that survive checking. Marking schemes are configured per assessment with components and weights, grades come from boundaries you set, and the result is generated from the record.
- Marking schemes with components and weights, set per assessment
- Grades from your own boundaries, with one rounding rule applied consistently
- Entry progress per subject, so missing marks are visible before result day
- A corrected mark regenerates the result instead of needing a document edited
Results to families, in your name
A result published the same day is what a coaching parent remembers. It goes out over WhatsApp, SMS and email under your institute's own name, with nothing for the family to install and no vendor's brand on it.
- Published to families the day you release them
- Under your institute's name, not a vendor app's
- Per-learner, so a family sees their own child's result and not a list
- The same record the attendance and fee ledger sit on
What is not built yet
Said plainly, because you will find out in the first demo otherwise. Classfold does not have a test-series object: an ordered series of tests with cumulative scoring, a percentile rank list across the series, and per-learner weak-area analysis is on the roadmap, not shipped. Individual tests, OMR, grade books and per-test results all work today. If a cumulative series rank list is the thing you are buying, wait for it or buy something else.
- Works today: individual tests (CBT, OMR, offline), marking schemes, grade books, per-test results
- Not built: an ordered test series with cumulative scoring
- Not built: a percentile rank list across a series
- Not built: automated per-learner weak-area analysis
Everything in one place
What the platform covers
CBT, OMR and offline
Three test modes landing on one learner record, so results are comparable.
Schemes, not formulas
Components, weights and grade boundaries as configuration rather than a spreadsheet.
Published same day
Results to families over WhatsApp, SMS and email, in your institute's name.
Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
Does Classfold produce a rank list across a test series?
Not yet. Per-test results and grade books exist today; an ordered series with cumulative scoring and percentile ranks is on the roadmap. We would rather tell you here than in a demo.
Can we use OMR sheets with our own scanner?
OMR sheet handling is part of the exam module. Talk to us about your specific scanner and sheet format before you commit, because this is the part where the details matter.
Can a learner take a test on a phone?
Computer-based tests are taken on a device with a browser. For a batch where not every learner has one, OMR or offline entry is the better route, which is why all three modes exist.
Do families need an app for this?
No. Classfold has no parent app and no parent login — everything a family receives arrives over WhatsApp, SMS or email under your institute's own name, so there is nothing for them to install.
Can we start with just this and add the rest later?
Yes. Every plan includes the whole platform, so you can run one capability first and switch on the others when you are ready. Nothing has to be bought again.
